Looks Cheaper Than it Was, July 19, 2010

I ordered this fixture to match a black light fixture. It is very flimsy and looks cheaper than it cost. I kept it since it was inexpensive and too much trouble to return. I plan to get paint to cover over the “nail” texture. I think it will look less bad then.

A Good Yet Somewhat Costly Alternative To Genuine Sony Power Adapter, December 2, 2007

After purchasing this product through Amazon.com, I received my new Playstation2 Power Max adapter within a week. Shipping was pretty fast and the product arrived safely and works as expected. My only complaint is that I paid nearly $19 plus shipping for this item. I have since found a supplier that sells the genuine Sony power adapter for just under $25, and with FREE shipping! Although you can tell that this adapter is not made by Sony, it seems to work just fine. If it holds up well then I will have no complaints. However, if I had known that I could purchase a genuine Sony adapter for about the same price (after what I paid for shipping of this item), I would have certainly done that. Still, this product seems to be good quality and works very well. If you are in a pinch, need a new power adapter fast, and don’t care that it is not original equipment, you can feel confident about purchasing this alternative product. =o)

This power supply is rated for 8.5V and 2.5A, while the original was 8.5V and 5.65A. This is not rated for even half the draw of the PS2, and that usually means a fire risk.

This home power overheats way to easy and fast don’t get this one. I had my play station 2 on for less than 30 minutes and the home power got so hot my play station just turned off.
