Poor quality,
I recently purchased this set and tried to cancel the order from Macy’s (not ordered here) (most of the pieces…including wastebasket) after I read bad reviews on the Macy site. I was told it was shipped…one hour after ordering..from Macys and they would try to stop it…. I called and spoke with one cust. serv. rep and then another in chat. They both said they would try to reroute the items…and it was a Friday before a 3 day holiday weekend. The items were not shipped that day but the following Tuesday and were sent to my home. I accepted them since they were at my door when I arrived, though I wish I hadn’t. Clearly they are poor quality, made by hand with lots of imperfections from swirl marks to chips in the “..pearl” to more yellow color throughout the interior and no obvious protective coating. Others mentioned the pieces turn blue with use and stain, esp. the liquid soap dispenser that I did not purchase. My tissue box was dented on one side and doesn’t stay flat on a surface but wobbles. Clearly it was pressed in by hand on the edges and poorly made. The metal is not heavy weight. It is supposedly a brass covered in a polished nickel..polished with steel wool it seems. All pieces look yellow on the inside. I only kept it since the customer service messed up so much, I just figured Macys would charge me to ship it back and then keep my money. They (Macy’s) clearly don’t care about the customer. I would never buy again from them, and do not recommend this poor quality set. Yes, the picture is gorgeous, but do not be fooled. Oh, and I posted a review on their site, but the did not even put it up. It was similar to what was written here and not anything that should have been kept from others’ views. I am not a happy customer, but always am very happy when purchasing directly from Amazon or with Amazon sites that are not only via the merchant but with Amazon as well. I buy lots from Amazon directly.

|3 Out Of 4 Pieces Are Really Nice,
The bronze is speckled and glazed with a high quality look and feel. The insides of the tumbler and soap dispenser also have high quality but practical finishes. Overall I was very pleased with the selection. The only part which is substandard is the gold colored spout/nozzle on the soap dispenser; ours already has chips on it showing the black plastic underneath. Additionally, when you press down for soap it doesn’t feel solid and swivels from side-to-side. For this price I would expected a metal spout/nozzle with a sturdier feel.
We received the bronze version as a gift along with the matching tissue box cover: Croscill Cheshire Tissue Cover. Unfortunately, the matching trash is discontinued as far as we know. If you’re in the same boat try this one: Umbra 082870-125 Metalla 3-Gallon Waste Can, Bronze – it’s not nearly the same quality and has a brushed not speckled look, but it’s the closest match we found on Amazon and a reasonable price so if you find something better you won’t feel bad about demoting it to duty in the garage.

This is an attractive and functional bath set. I needed to return the first set as one of the pieces had a flaw in it but the exchange set is perfect.
